A hated royal was not invited to the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla Parker

Sarah Ferguson, the former sister-in-law of King Charles III and close friend of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has revealed that she has not been invited to the monarch’s coronation in May. In an interview with Glamour magazine, the Duchess of York explained that no one has officially invited her, so she cannot yet confirm her attendance.

Despite its proximity to royalty, Sarah Ferguson does not know if the invitations have already been sent from the palace. In a joking tone, Prince Andrew‘s ex-wife commented that the best thing about being British during a coronation is the possibility of setting up a tea room at the end of the road with bunting and cakes.

Regarding her ex-husband and his situation within the royal family, Sarah did not want to say much, but she did come to Prince Andrew’s defense and described him as “a good man who has had a difficult time“. On the other hand, she spoke about Queen Elizabeth II, whom she revealed that she considered “more of a mother than my mother“.

Sarah Ferguson highlighted the monarch’s ability to reassure someone and described the queen as “a pillar for the whole nation and for the world“. The Duchess expressed that it was a great honor to have met the Queen and recalled her unconditional support.

Although she has not received a formal invitation, Sarah Ferguson’s absence at the coronation of the new monarch in May would be a surprise, due to her closeness to royalty and the close relationship she had with the late Queen Elizabeth II.
