The long-awaited duet between Shakira and Karol G, is called “Te Quedó Grande.” The music has already achieved international success. The song’s official video, which is available on YouTube account, has held the top spot in the category of world music ever since it debuted.
Given her popularity, the singer, opened up about working with Shakira, a fellow countrywoman. It should be mentioned that she had previously spoken about how difficult it was to work for 16 hours a day in the studio due to Shakira’s level of demand.
This time, she described the transition from a work-related cooperation to an intimate moment between the two.
“Very nice to share with her, to talk not only about the music, the video, but to be able to talk to her about stories of her life, of my life, to have made this special connection, and at the end of the day, I think it’s going to be that reality inside the song, what’s behind it”, assured la Bichota.
The message has no addressee, but Karol G also gave the assurance that it does contain names, moments, and intimate life experiences, making it the ideal blank canvas for other women.
“Beyond the fact that there is a for whom, it is the song, because it is not for anyone, it is simply that as singers we write about personal stories, of which today other women can identify with the song and heal certain little things”, explained G.
The Colombian singer affirmed that music is a means for both of them to move past their pasts and disclosed that Shakira used her songs to tell her story, so their collaborations had to follow a certain order.
“She told me to wait for her because she was going to release a song, the session with Bizarrap, and then mine would come out, she wanted the process to be perfect, in which she wanted to tell a situation through songs and that’s what I did, I postponed everything, I postponed so that my album would come out precisely on this date”, she recalled.
