Joe Elliott, lead singer of Def Leppard, was hospitalized in emergency room

Joe Elliott, the band’s singer of Def Leppard, had to be rushed to the hospital a short time after the band’s performance in Bogotá, Colombia, as part of The World Tour. It is assumed that he was released from the hospital a short time later.

Initial reports state that the 63-year-old singer was brought to the Marly clinic due to breathing issues, but no further information is known. He was eventually released after a few hours of being under medical supervision.

According to some local media, this issue could have been brought on by the city’s elevation in addition to the fact that he had pneumonia issues in 2015, which had long-term affects that showed up in his third tour stop.

As Rick Savage, Rick Allen, Phil Collen, and Vivian Campbell were scheduled to perform with Mötley Crüe at the Simon Bolivar Park, it should be noted that Joe Elliott’s health issues rapidly alarmed both his supporters and the other band members.

Due to this, even though the event’s organizer, Ocesa, remained silent, the band members appeared in front of their fans and assured them that the performance would go on as planned.

“The show is still on at the Simon Bolivar Park. We are ready to rock with the fans in Colombia. I’m looking forward to tonight’s show here in Colombia. Until then I’m putting together the new photos I’ve taken here in Bogota. I will upload them to my photography Instagram page. See you tonight,” they wrote.

Following the performance, fans were quick to post on social media about how the British rock band’s fantastic performance had made their night magical. Others expressed astonishment that the vocalist had performed despite his health issues.
