Yoko Ono turned 90 years old, and 43 years after John Lennon’s passing, she is still held responsible for the famous band’s, The Beatlesbreakup from the United Kingdom and for being the antagonist of the tale.
Fans started blaming Yoko for the choice after Paul McCartney shocked the world in 1970 by announcing his departure from the band and the subsequent collapse of the entire group. They claimed that Yoko managed Lennon whatever she wished.
Paul McCartney was in responsibility of debunking the long-circulating rumor on September 5, 2018, but to the shock of many, he revealed that Lennon had already intended to quit The Beatles before they began their relationship:
“I don’t think she can be held responsible for anything. Lennon was definitely going to leave the group,” he confessed about The Beatles.
He also pointed out that the real culprit was John himself, who hastened his departure when he met Ono, since the way of life she showed him ended up seducing him:
“There was a meeting where John came and said, ‘Hey guys, I’m leaving the group,'” he stated.
“He found Yoko and loved strong women; his mother had been a very strong woman.”
Paul acknowledged that because she attended practically all of Lennon’s work events, they started to view her as an intrusion, but it wasn’t their fault; they had only fallen in love.
