Numerous franchises from nations that have previously supplied candidates have terminated their contracts with the Miss Universe organization. The new modifications made and Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel’s contentious win in the most recent competition would be the main factors.
The most significant and prestigious beauty pageant in the world, Miss Universe, has had several agreements with sponsors and franchises terminated because those nations have refused to conform to the new rules that Anne Jakrajutatip, the new owner of the pageant, has implemented since she took over.
The Miss Universe organization’s new board of directors is in charge of the new auction process that will determine who will represent the organization at the upcoming competition.
“The Miss Universe board of directors shared the information through an email in which they indicate to each national director that they have until February 10 to send an auction proposal. The proposal must contain a budget for 2023, a marketing plan and an economic offer to keep the franchise, an open postulation that will be evaluated in Thailand, current host of the pageant.”
Anne Jakrajutatip and her company, JKN Global Group, have already received rejections from nations like Indonesia, Vietnam, Ghana, and Belize. As some franchises will be auctioned off at extremely high rates, several media outlets claim that many more nations than initially anticipated may be added to the list.
“With the acquisition of the company by JKN Global Group, we are modernizing the franchise system and implementing new ways to add value to the business and future partnerships,” said the Miss Universe organization.
