The official coronation of King Charles III as the new King of the United Kingdom, which is slated to take place in the month of May and is already raising a lot of anticipation, has been refused by Adele and Ed Sheeran, according to what numerous media outlets have reported.
The top British performers who are now available to perform have been sought after as King Charles III’s coronation is being prepared for before its scheduled date on May 6.
The two most prominent current figures in the United Kingdom, despite earlier speculation that they would attend, have turned down their invitation, which has caused great disappointment for the country’s new queen.
The singers were requested to perform, according to “The Mail on Sunday,” after the king told the event’s planners he hoped they would.
Sheeran and Adele, though, asserted that they would be booked for those times and would be unable to appear at the May 7 event, which would have taken place the day after the King was crowned at Westminster Abbey.
The newspaper also featured the late Queen Elizabeth II’s son’s response to the responses he received from both artists:
“The King has suggested several people he would like to perform and Adele and Ed were on that list. He was very keen for them to be part of the concert. A team was set up to get talent to sign up, so they approached them both, but got replies saying they were not available, which was a great disappointment.”
