A few days ago, Sam Smith and transgender artist Kim Petras won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group for their song “Unholy.”
Sam and Kim emphasized that they were the first trans woman and non-binary person to receive recognition and take part in the ceremony’s shows.
Their recent presence caused controversy since they were accused of performing a satanic ritual by certain internet users, and right-wing remarks appeared on networks after their presentation.
In a recent video shared on social networks, the British artist is seen walking calmly through Central Park, when a woman starts insulting him.
“Sam Smith should go to hell,” a woman is heard shouting in the video, where she also shouts “You demonic, twisted, sick, sick bastard. Leave the children alone!”, is heard later in the recording shared on social networks.

Sam Smith seems unconcerned and tries not to focus on the woman’s verbal abuse, which she is ostensibly recording on her phone.
Sam Smith has yet to respond to this issue on social media; nonetheless, the singer-songwriter has established himself as a role model for the LGBTQ+ community despite receiving several criticisms for his appearance, weight, style, and orientation.
