A former South Korean government official is summarily charged for attempting to sell allegedly clothing worn by the youngest member of BTS, Jeon Jungkook.
Prosecutors have summarily charged a former Foreign Ministry official for allegedly trying to sell BTS member Jungkook’s lost hat online for 10 million won ($7,950), legal sources said Tuesday.
.
The former official, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly shared a photo of a fisherman’s hat on an online flea market, claiming that the KPOP superstar had left it at the Foreign Ministry building in Seoul when he paid a visit to apply for his passport.
The seller added that he had acquired ownership of the hat, as no one went to claim it, for six months after it was reported as lost property. Following disputes, he deleted the posting and voluntarily turned himself in to the police.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, which is investigating the case, summarily indicted him, seeking punishment of fines for the fraud charges. The KPOP group’s agency confirmed to police that the hat belonged to Jungkook. Prosecutors plan to return the hat to the artist.
