Madonna decided not to remain silent in the face of the criticism received by the appearance of her face during her presentation at the recent Grammy Awards, held last Sunday.
The queen of pop used her Instagram account to point out that she considers herself a victim of misogyny and an unfortunate image, which took attention away from the speech she gave before introducing Kim Petras, the first trans woman to perform at the ceremony.
“Once again I fell into the clutches of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in. A world that refuses to celebrate women over the age of 45 and feels the need to punish them if they are hard-working, strong-willed and adventurous,” the singer detailed.

Madonna, who is now 64 years old, also lashed out at the press and defended the aesthetic choices she has made throughout her long career in music, many of which have sparked sharp controversy.
The world is threatened by my power and my stamina. My intelligence and my will to survive.
But they will never break me

“I’ve never apologized for any of the creative choices I’ve made or the way I look or dress and I’m not going to start now. I’ve been demeaned by the media since the beginning of my career, but I understand that everything is a test and I’m happy to be the pioneer so that all the other women behind me have an easier future,” she added.
