The ex-football player retired from the Barcelona Football Club last year, however, his old team’s stadium is paying no respect to his legacy.
The Spaniard was humiliated when the song Shakira wrote for him was playing at the popular stadium at full volume, and the fans that were present made sure to record the moment.
As a quick recap, Piqué and Shakira got married on 2011, they had 2 children and then, last year, he cheated on her with Clara Chía, a young actress. After the unfaithfulness scandal, they split and she wrote a song that she later released in collaboration with the producer Bizarrap, which lyrics’ translate to: ”A wolf like me is not meant to be with noobs like you, you changed a Ferrari for a Twingo, a Rolex for a Cassio”.
The polemic song was the biggest success in the Spanish speaking market on 2022, gathering a record breaking 15 million streams on it’s debut day, on Spotify, and 50 million views on YouTube, making it the Spanish song with the most views, streams and sales in the first 24 hours in history, in all platforms: YouTube, Spotify and iTunes.
The reason why the song is so polemic is because many defenders of the confirmed cheater, Piqué, claim that Shakira is demonstrating weakness, while traumatizing their two children with a public confrontation of their two parents, and making women look like objects with the Rolex and Ferrari metaphors.
The funny moment when the Colombian’s diss track was playing on the Johan Cruyff stadium made everyone remember that Piqué has no space from what he did to the beloved singer.
