There is a reason why Miss Universe had to step down as Miss USA, and it’s a rather valid reason.
R’Bonney Gabriel won the crown and the privilege of becoming Miss Universe after a very polemic ceremony last January 14th, where she participated as the representant from USA. Ever since, she has been the target on an incredible wave of criticism, along with the Miss Universe institution as well.
The reason for the criticism is because the public is suggesting that the pageant was rigged, as the was a very noticeable favoritism towards the local contestant, Miss USA, since the ceremony was held in New Orleans, an American city.
The general public does not like the new Miss Universe much, and everybody was expecting Miss Venezuela, Curacao or Dominican Republic to take the crown, as they were the favorites of everyone, including experts.
On top of that polemic, R’Bonney had to take another difficult decision that put her in the eye of the storm. Because of the new responsibilities as Miss Universe, she had to give up her crown as Miss USA, making the second participant of USA, the new Miss USA, while R’Bonney is pretty much disqualified.
The reason why she cannot fulfill duties as both, Miss USA and Miss Universe at the same time is because the Miss Universe is the global representant of beauty and values, so she would need to travel from country to country promoting good causes and boosting social movements, while Miss USA would do the same thing, but only in the USA, of course.
R’Bonney Gabriel decided to step down as Miss USA for this reason, what do you think about her decision?
