The entertainment world was shaken when R’Bonney Gabriel resigned her title as Miss United States after winning Miss Universe 2022. The decision was taken as a rule of protocol, and here we tell you much more details around the controversial news given by the Miss Universe organization.
The victory of R’Bonney as representative of Texas in the national contest was full of many disputes, but at the end of the day she could give an excellent as the winner, but, now that she has won the Miss Universe, she had to give up her national crown and give it to the semifinalist Morgan Romano, representative of North Carolina.
This same decision was made when Olivia Culpo won the Miss Universe crown in 2012. And according to the schedules, Miss USA and Miss Universe have very different obligations, so if any representative of the country wins a universal crown, she must cede her obligations as Miss USA to the first semifinalist.

The Miss USA organization issued a statement to calm the waters, and is that actually R’Bonney did not lose her title as Miss USA, but she will have an alternate to do her duties as Miss USA, including being present at the next Miss USA ceremony and deliver the crown.
