The fame of K-Pop group BTS has grown greatly over the past few years, becoming a worldwide phenomenon. However, with their recent popularity, they are constantly receiving both praise and criticism, as well as racist and derogatory comments.
Recently, ARMY showed his displeasure when a TV host made racist remarks toward BTS’ J-Hope during his fashion week debut with his partner Jimin for luxury fashion brand DIOR.
Although, as expected, J-Hope looked absolutely flawless in his DIOR look and most praised his appearance, comedian and host Pablos Motos was criticized for his wretched depiction of the K-Pop idol.
In the video shared on social media, Motos talks about three celebrities on screen and one of them was the South Korean artist, to which the Spanish comedian immediately says: “friki japonés“.

Although the host opined that J-Hope looked good, the phrase translated as “Japanese freak” could have different words that can be translated to, including “geek“, but apparently they all have negative connotations.
It is worth clarifying that the first problem was that the man described J-Hope as “Japanese“, and many believe it relates to the belief that “all Asians are the same“.
After the controversial video was posted online, it was no surprise that fans and netizens reacted in disgust over the comment, flooding the networks with tweets demanding an apology from the comedian. However, so far, neither the program nor the host, Pablos Motos, have responded to the accusations.
