Sana, Momo and Mina are one of the most popular members of TWICE, and their popularity has undoubtedly managed to break out of South Korea and Japan. The three girls are originally from Japan, and they went to South Korea recruited by JYP Entertainment.

The group’s Japanese subunit will debut this 2023 after the group’s comeback on January 20th with their second full English single “Moonlight Sunrise“. The news comes as a New Year’s gift to fans, who can pre-order the studio work now.

Regarding the debut of TWICE’s Japanese subunit, K-Media reported that after TWICE’s group comeback with their 12th mini album, the 3 Japanese girls will have their debut as a trio. Momo, Mina and Sana are undoubtedly one of the most loved members of KPOP in general.

.

This would become one of the first Japanese subunits of KPOP in general. Many groups such as NCT or TREASURE also have two or more members from Japan, but they have never debuted a subunit. The fact is that Japan is one of the countries that consumes and spends the most on the KPOP genre globally.
