Bad Bunny is officially named as the first cancelled artist of 2023, and if that wasn’t enough, hours later another video showed him snatching cell phones in the middle of a nightclub to avoid being recorded. Both videos went viral, his name was trending and although he came out to defend his position, the apology that never came echoed among his fans.
Now, the songs of the interpreter of ‘Neverita’ are plummeting in plays on the streaming platform Spotify, application in which the Puerto Rican has been the most listened artist for three years in a row. In 2022, for example, he had more than 18.5 billion plays on his songs.
Being six of his eight songs that ranked in Spotify’s Top 200 in the United States, his listening numbers were altered, ie:
‘Tití me preguntó’ Bad Bunny fell from position 13 to 25.
‘Me porto bonito’ Bad Bunny fell 18 places, from 15th to 33rd.
‘Efecto’ is now ranked 75th, having fallen 18 places as well.
‘Ojitos lindos’ moved from 97th to 144th place.
‘Moscow Mule’ fell 61 places and is now at number 167.
For its part, ‘Neverita’ fell 60 places, now at number 190.
However, the same users “know their people” and assured that “In less than a week everyone will have forgotten what happened and all their “rankings” will be back to normal.”
