UFC president Dana White and his wife Anne White were caught on video when they were in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, on New Year’s Eve and came to blows after exchanging a few words. After the video of what happened went viral, Dana assured that the “incident, unfortunately, was fueled by alcohol”.
The UFC boss and Anne White, who have been married for 26 years, were celebrating Saturday night with friends at “The Squid Roe,” but things turned turbulent when they all welcomed in 2023 at midnight, TMZ reported.
According to media reports, the couple was at a VIP event, had a brief argument, the wife slapped him and he responded with blows.
Witnesses said they both looked drunk and the video seems to confirm this.
Fortunately, the incident did not escalate any further and was over in less than a minute, however, a debate was generated on social networks about the actions of both of them.
In an interview for TMZ, Dana admitted that both he and his wife drank a lot that night, but of course that is no excuse for him to get violent. “I’ve said it for years heard it said for years, ‘There’s never ever an excuse for a man to put his hands on a woman,’ and now here I am talking about it.”
He assured that he is ashamed of the “horrible” moment, but that between Anne and him apologies were offered, so for the moment they are fine, although they fear that this will impact the mental health of their three children, with whom they have already spoken.
