Through BANGTANTV’s official channel, a new video of the creation process of INDIGO, RM’s first full-length solo album, was shared. In the video, it can be seen that the rapper went to a studio together with Jimin and Suga, in order to create images for the album.
RM decided to invite Suga and Jimin to help him and before arriving at the place they collected various plants, flowers and objects that they wanted to be part of the artwork they were about to make. At the site, a woman showed them the process to create the cyanotype works and together they got down to work to create on white sheets what would be part of INDIGO’s art.
For those who don’t know, cyanotype is a photographic printing technique that does not use silver in the photochemical process. It is a very old process in which the photos were left with an indigo blue tone due to the material used and that fits perfectly with the concept of Kim Namjoon‘s album.
.
This method was discovered in the year 1842 and was mainly used to document various types of plants in the past. During the chapter, RM, Suga and Jimin learned the process from placing different plants on a leaf and leaving them exposed to the sun.
