Amber Heard and Johnny Depp reach settlement agreement on compensation payment

Several months after Aquaman actress Amber Heard lost her defamation lawsuit against her ex-partner, actor Johnny Depp, the celebrity filed a series of appeals to avoid paying the compensation awarded by the court of Virginia, United States, which determined that she should give her ex 10 million 300 thousand dollars.

However, not everything went well for the celebrity, as all her petitions were denied, including those in which she claimed that the court had failed to ensure that she was guilty of defamation.

“I will not be threatened, discouraged or deterred by what happened from telling the truth. No one can and no one will take that away from me. My voice will forever remain the most valuable asset I have,” Amber Heard wrote in a statement released on networks.

That is why the American celebrity had to seek to reach an agreement with the actor, through her lawyers, resulting in that instead of having to pay more than 10 million dollars, she will only have to pay one million, but this will not come out of her pocket.

This figure will be covered by Amber’s insurance company, who will deliver the million dollars to the actor Johnny Depp.

Although Johnny Depp has not commented on the matter, Amber expressed in her statement that the loss of this legal battle destroyed her life in every way, as it affected her professionally and personally making her stop believing in the legal system, but she tried to look on the bright side and explained that she will continue to defend the causes she believes in, but she will have more time to raise her daughter.

Currently the beautiful actress is living in a small town in Spain where she lives with her current girlfriend and her little baby. She assures that she only seeks peace and supports her story with the hope that the legal system will come to believe her when she is ready. She assures that she did not lose against the actor, but against his popularity.
