The world of superheroes is undergoing significant changes. Famously known director James Gunn has taken over one of the most exploitable industries of the new era.
Since the news that Henry Cavill will not be returning to take on another movie in the Superman suit, another major change is the cancellation of the Wonder Woman 3 movie, causing fans to quickly raise their voices.
Not much was known about it, there were even people who doubted the veracity of this, but recently, the director of the tapes, spoke out about it clarifying all the situations surrounding the film starring Gal Gadot.
It was through Twitter that the director expressed herself by giving her words:
“Sigh…I’m not one who likes to talk about private things, but I won’t let the misinformation continue. Here are the facts:
I originally left Rogue Squadron after a long development process when it became clear it wouldn’t start fast enough and I didn’t want to delay WW3 any longer than expected. When I left, Lucasfilm asked me to consider returning to Rogue Squadron after WW3. In fact, I am still on the project and it has been in active development ever since. I don’t know if this will happen or not. We never know until the development process is complete, but I hope to continue to pursue the potential head on.
When the negative reaction started about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait and false stories started to say that it was me who killed the project or that I was the one who left. This is not true. I never left. I was open to consider whatever was asked of me. It was my understanding that there was nothing to do moving forward at this point. DC is obviously buried in changes it has to make, so understanding these decisions is difficult at this time.I don’t want this beautiful journey with Wonder Woman to be on a negative note. I have loved this character and have been honored to be the person who was able to do at least two Wonder Woman movies. She is an amazing character. Living around her values made me a better person every day. I wish for her legacy to be amazing in the future, with or without me.
Walking side by side with Lynda Carter, an absolute legend and beacon of good and light, has been thrilling. I have learned so much from her and will cherish her friendship and mentorship always. My team has been like a family and I fight every day to give the world the best films they can. And Gal… Gal Gadot. Where do I start? Gal is the greatest gift I have received on this journey. I cherish her friendship, she is an inspiration and a sister. No words can put into words how magical she is. She is the live image of Wonder Woman and a better person than the world could ever imagine.Never in a million moments have I been with her seen anything less. She is a gift to this world and equally a gift to me.
Finally, but most importantly, THANK YOU to the amazing WW fans, and for all your love and support. Wonder Woman fans are not the most visible in the media and online, but I want you to know that we have always seen you and celebrated your importance. They were foremost in our minds every day we made the last two movies. You are the best and most loving people I look to always celebrate .
Thank you ALL for this beautiful journey. Keep up the Wonder Woman spirit. Every day you have a problem, ask yourself: what would Wonder Woman do? I hope she will be your beacon of love, truth and justice and always guide you as she has guided me.”
