Chatting with Rolling Stone about some of the biggest “scoops” in her life and career, BLACKPINK‘s Rosé recalled her first impressions of each of the members when they joined YG Entertainment in 2012.
When Rosé passed the YG Entertainment global audition and traveled from her native Australia to South Korea, she was only 15 years old. Speaking to the magazine, Rosé explained that she was the newest future BLACKPINK member to join the company as a trainee.
“I walked in and there was just a bunch of girls, quite a few, in one room. I remember feeling intimidated“.
Although Rosé hadn’t danced before becoming a trainee, she seemed like Jennie was happy to help. The “On The Ground” singer revealed that her partner helped her learn all the basics of choreography.
Also, since Jennie grew up in New Zealand she was also fluent in English, so she helped Rosé learn all the customs of Korean culture that she hadn’t learned living in Australia.

In addition, Rosé shared that Lisa was actually the first member she met when she came to the company. Then the Thai remembered her partner as the “Aussie girl with the guitar” and tight bun.
Rosé’s first impression of Jisoo was that of a ‘cool kid‘ due to her fashion, she wore a snapback cap and an oversized black shirt. Currently, the idol says that her older groupmate is a mix of cool and “the dumbest person in the world“.
