BTSJin confirmed that he will be in a military unit near the border with North Korea when he joins the military service.

The 29-year-old Jin revealed the information in response to a fan’s question on the fan community platform Weverse, where Kpop artists usually do their live broadcasts, the question was about whether he was excited for his upcoming birthday, to which he replied:

“No… I was sent to the front.”

For such a reason, it seems that he already received his draft notice and was informed that he will have to go to the frontline, keeping in mind that his birthday is on December 4th. Although BTS’ agency, BigHit Entertainment, did not disclose the specific date and location of the recruitment.

.

The artist announced his plans to join the army after the group held a one-day concert in Busan, South Korea in October.

Jin debuted his first solo single, “The Astronaut,” and also gave the first live performance of the song on the same day of its release at a concert with British rock band Coldplay in Argentina.

Upon returning to Korea, Jin applied to the government to cancel his military service deferment, so he could be called to perform at any time, as according to the law set by the government on military service in 2020, artists can defer their enlistment until the age of 30, but it is mandatory for every man who is in a fit state to perform.
