Johnny Depp has taken the decision to appeal the recent lawsuit he had against Amber Heard. The actor, now wants a total victory, in order not to pay a penny to his ex. Johnny Depp has not hesitated twice and has taken the next step in his appeal of the million verdict that the jury of the Fairfax Virginia court awarded Amber Heard in her defamation trial in May.
In an appeal filed Wednesday in the Virginia state Court of Appeals, the renowned actor called the jury’s decision to award money to his ex-wife “incorrect.” Jurors awarded Depp million in compensatory damages and million in punitive damages, before Fairfax County Judge Penney Azcarate reduced the latter to the state’s statutory limit of 0,000.
Heard won only one of her three claims against Depp, as the jury concluded that Johnny, through his attorney Adam Waldman, defamed her by calling her accusations about a 2016 incident how “an ambush, a hoax.” Depp contends that Heard presented no evidence at trial where he showed that he was personally involved in directing or making any of the three statements Waldman made.
.
He also noted that his attorney did not witness any of the interactions between the former couple before he was hired.
So far, we’ll have to wait to hear more details about this new lawsuit, but the way it’s going, it won’t be surprising to see both actors facing each other again in court.
