BTS contributes to the Asian community as one of its representatives, which is a role that carries a lot of responsibility. In his recent interview with Rolling Stone, RM shared with Pharrell Williams his feelings regarding the pressure of responsibility.

As a team, we’ve been to the UN and we’ve also met President Biden. We never thought these things (would happen), but I think we naturally became one of the representatives of the Asian community“, RM said.

I always think to myself, ‘Am I that good? Do I deserve all the responsibilities?

‘ And I’m really doubting myself. I’ve heard that you do a lot of things for the community.

So I wonder how you deal with all the responsibilities to be good and moral“, adedd the idol.

The American producer advises the idol with his own methods to learn from his mistakes and try to educate himself. In addition, he mentions that he creates non-profit organizations to raise awareness about the cause and contribute to it.

I mean, the (charitable) work that I do, there’s always a circumstance. Either I’d say something dumb and then I’d regret it, or there’s been a time when I have a record that affected a certain part of a demographic.

So it got me thinking on things differently.

And then I set up a (non-profit organization) and take action against the ignorance that I was a part of. And educate myself, enlighten myself.

Then other times, I also do it because of what you just said“, he replied Pharrell.

When you ask yourself, ‘Man, am I good enough?’ Or ‘Do I deserve all this?’ I think what makes it easier for me to sleep at night is when I’m going to do that job.

It helps answer those questions.

It’s like, wherever there’s a deficit in your confidence that you deserve to be here or get that kind of awe from the fans, wherever the downside is, it adds up“, Williams said finally.

I hope all my confusion and these stupid thoughts help my life get better, [and I can] be a better adult for the fans“, RM concluded.
