On Friday, October 21st, Taylor Swift released her most recent album “Midnights“, from which its lead single, “Anti-Hero“, was embroiled in controversy due to a scene, already edited, from its official video due to the word “fat“.
The music video, directed and written by the artist herself, was edited to remove a scene that shows the American singer getting on a bathroom scale where the word “fat” appears on the screen showing her weight.
The video available on Apple Music no longer shows that scene, instead, Swift’s antihero clone just looks at her with a disappointed expression. For its part, on YouTube the content has not yet changed, the scene continues to be shown.

The representatives of the singer and the platform have not yet spoken. It is speculated that Swift decided to remove the scene following an online backlash labeling the scene “fat-phobic“, an alleged indication that being a fat person is a negative thing.
On social media, Taylor claimed that the audiovisual piece mirrored her own “nightmares and thoughts“. In the past, in her Netflix documentary, titled “Miss Americana” in 2020, the artist revealed that she struggled with eating disorders.
