The delicate situation of BTS’s Jin that worries the ARMY

K-Pop Group BTS‘s fans, better known for their alias, “ARMY”, is growing worried about the future of the group and more specially of the future of one of the members, Jin, the oldest of the seven.

It is known that the members share a future in the military service, which is mandatory in South Korea, their country of origin, however, the Minister of Culture and the Government have not made any final decision about the enlistment of the BTS members into the military forces. The discussion is set to come to a conclusion this coming December, when the final statement will be released with the information if the members will have to serve the military obligation, or if they can opt out for all their contributions to the country as K-Pop Idols.

Jin would be the first member of the group to join the military forces and obey to his obligation, as he is the oldest one, soon to be 30 years old.

When the topic rose controversy and discussion two years ago, the government decided to provide a 2-year extension on their enlistment age, which is 28 years old maximum, but with this, it could rise to 30, much to the relief of the band’s followers.

As you could infer by now, Jin is now on the verge of the enlistment age, which he skipped at 28 but will most likely not be able to skip at 30 years old. This will be the same fate of the other 6 members when their time comes.

The fans know very well that the extended period is about to be over for Jin, and for Suga as well, who is second in line. It has been rumored that the Military Forces and the Government are working on a law to allow K-Pop idols to avoid serving this time in the military, as a reward for their contribution to the culture and the outside image of the country. The law would have their name, BTS, and would be available for any artist that would like to avoid or dodge the time in the military.

For now, the ARMY can only wait patiently for the final statement, hoping the best but expecting the worst.
