Yoo

‘Seoul Vibe’ premiered  on Netflix on August 26 and talks about a car chase action film against the backdrop of 1988 when the Sanggyedong Supreme Team, also known as ‘Bangkoupam,’ who dreams of the American dream, receives an offer they can’t refuse and is put into a VIP slush fund investigation operation.

Yoo Ah In played the role of Park Dong Wook, sharing screen with  top actors such as Go Kyung Pyo, Lee Kyu Hung, Park Hoo Hyun, etc.

During the interview, Yoo Ah In shared, “I spent more time with the cast members of ‘Seoul Vibe’ than the cast members of other projects I’ve been. I got to hang out with the cast members and got closer to them. One of the reasons I chose this film was because of my curiosity about what kind of film will come out when I spend a lot of time with the cast members. I felt a lot of pleasure while spending such a time.”

The actor added, “It was a work that was able to bring a lot of hope and inspiration to the scenes itself. We left behind ‘who’s better than who,’ or the ‘seniors and juniors (hierarchy).’ I usually outcast myself from everyone while filming but ‘Seoul Vibe’ was different. Of course, it’s important to have serious talks about the project, but I thought it was good to play games and joke with other actors in between takes. It felt like my heart was opening more. I am very thankful to them.”

Yoo Ah In explained, “I think I didn’t make the character of ‘Actor Yoo Ah In’ by myself, aside from the discussion that ‘celebrities are public figures or not.’ I think the public and the media created him together. I feel that it would be good to take care of this ‘Yoo Ah In’ and cherish him a bit more.”

He continued to say, “In the past, I thought that it would be good to become an actor who can grow with the people who look at me through my growth, with the ‘unconditional challenge’ as an important value, and I have spent a long time since I was a rookie.

In addition, Yoo Ah In said, “Looking back now, when I was in my teens and 20s, I had a lot of thoughts that are embarrassing. I didn’t recognize the greatness of our (country), but I thought that Western, American, and European (cultures) were better. I didn’t watch any Korean music shows and would only listen to pop songs.

Yoo Ah In also talked about his personality change,

My close friend’s mother told me, ‘Yoo Ah In seems like he became greasy. He’s being too safe.’ She said my spunky personality disappeared. And I agree. I don’t speak as bluntly as I did before. but I am still trying to be honest. I don’t think I can be completely like that. It’s because of the increased responsibility I feel so I think everyone will understand my changed image.”
