Student is victim of bullying for wearing a BTS backpack at school

A TikTok went viral of some students making fun of a classmate for wearing a BTS backpack. The video has already surpassed one million views and of course those who recorded it obviously had all the bad intentions of making a fool out of the girl for wearing a backpack of their favorite band.

In networks, many commented that they also like BTS but they would never use something of theirs because they know they would be victims of bullying, there are also those who “understood” the creator of the video and joined the mockery against the girl. Soon after, many defended the girl, calling her brave for showing herself as she is with a lot of pride, wearing something that makes her happy.

It is no secret that the KPOP community has been socially ridiculed by other social niches. It is normal for people to wear merchandise from their favorite soccer teams, rock bands, video games or even anime. However, when someone wears a backpack of their favorite KPOP group, they take it as something to ridicule.

Many pointed out that in the past, rock or anime fans were also ridiculed when they tried to show their tastes in public, but once a celebrity or someone popular uses it, everyone acts like it’s cool and it’s no longer the center of mockery.

Currently the ARMY fandom is the one that receives the most hostility on social media, and this translates to them being mocked in real life as well. Even the members of BTS spoke out about this in the past, placing on their official merchandise only symbologies that only ARMY understands to avoid these situations.
