In South Korea, several media outlets are talking about BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and an alleged relationship with BTS’ V. And according to K-Media, the idols are reportedly meeting in New York, something that YG Entertainment was quick to come out to protect their artist and deny the rumors.
But new photos have surfaced on social media, and many people masquerading as fans are making unwarranted comments full of mockery and misogyny against Jennie Kim. Calling her derogatory names with hurtful insults for something that has not even been confirmed or denied.
Many fans have come out to defend the idol, claiming that certain fandom practices double standards, making comments full of internalized sexism or prejudice against women by minimizing her worth and above all, bullying her. BLINK is also campaigning for YG Entertainment to take action against bullies.
This is actually a very common thing in KPOP, female idols always get the most hate when it comes to rumors of dating male idols. Hopefully the situation can be resolved and the “PINK VENOM” performer will not be mentally affected by these comments.
