BLACKPINK made their comeback this Friday with “Pink Venom”, the first song from their upcoming second album. For her part, Rosé celebrated by talking to fans and crying while she was sitting in a car and the videos of the moment were shared on the networks.
Specifically, the singer who wanted to greet her fans was moved to meet them in person after a long time and broke down in tears. That same Friday, August 19th, marked the first day of BLACKPINK’s long-awaited comeback after more than a year and 10 months.

The group also held an online press conference a few hours before the song’s release at 1 p.m. KST. Jennie said:

“Since the time we debuted as Blackpink, we have always said that our charm is that contradictory image“.
“We wanted to describe the band using oxymorons like ‘cute poison’ that can better represent us. This song portrays Blackpink himself”, she described about “Pink Venom”.
It fuses the band’s trademark powerful hip-hop beats with the sound of “geomungo“, a traditional six-string Korean zither.
The album will be the band’s second to exceed a million, having already sold over 1.
5 million copies in pre-orders less than a week after pre-orders started according to YG. A 20-second teaser video for “Pink Venom” has garnered over 130 million views on YouTube.
