BTS’ J-Hope made history on Sunday by becoming the first South Korean artist to headline a major music festival in the United States as he closed out the annual Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, Illinois over the weekend.

On top of that, J-Hope‘s performance broke attendance records at the festival, making it the festival’s most lucrative show ever, which is impressive considering he is a foreign artist.

Jung Hoseok also sent a special message to the South Korean audience, and was joined by singer Becky G to perform their collaboration Chicken Noodle Soup on behalf of Latinos.

.

These artists have received great communication skills. Their global audience speaks different languages, but possesses an intense passion for their music,” Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said in June.

J-Hope’s main stage performance comes a month after the seven members of BTS announced they were taking a break from the group to focus on their solo activities. J-Hope is the first of the members to release his solo album.
