Kim Namjoon has responded to reporters who deliberately exaggerated/interpreted and made clickbait articles using BTS‘ dinner video and announcement. the idol will not tolerate baseless lies that may hurt members. Through social network Weverse, the idol said:

“The courage to be honest always seems to cause unnecessary misunderstandings.

After the program aired, this is the highest number of calls I’ve received since we debuted. When I took a look at the screenshots and article titles (people sent me), there were quite a few provocative and partially interpreted keywords in them, such as separation, hiatus, big announcement, etc.

It’s not that we didn’t know this would happen or that we didn’t prepare for this, but it actually felt bitter. It’s not that I expected reporters to watch the whole video in which we cried, laughed, and expressed everything… Whether it’s an irregular kind of content like Bangtan ‘Company Dinner’, or the symbolism of June 13, the date it was aired, that video was completely dedicated to ARMY who have been with us for the past 9 years.

Of course, there will be reactions from people on the outside who say we are making a fuss, we are talking too loud and powerful, etc…. But just saying that “Wouldn’t any other artist or fandom say the same thing?”, there is definitely something special that only exists between BTS and ARMY as much as the content we have released throughout almost 10 years that we have been releasing non-stop.

BTS (방탄소년단) 'Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)' Official MV

This feeling is a question that we have received countless times through interviews so far, but for some reason it is quite difficult to describe in a few words and it is also difficult for me. Anyway, that was a confession (of love) and a confession (of sin) that we had to make to all our fans who have been communicating with us so far without giving value to that specialty.

Although those who saw the video will understand, just as the title of the song “Yet To Come” suggests that it is true that what we really wanted to say is that now is NOT the end. And since only the part where I sob was a screenshot and continues to spread all over the place (without context), I also wonder if I got carried away under the influence of alcohol for no reason.

In fact, it seems that the value of being honest always ends up in unnecessary misunderstandings and creates disasters. What I wanted to say is that we are 2 (individual + group), but we don’t change our words and speak as 1. We speak 1 as 1, and just share all those feelings that were spilled in the process of that through courage and tears.

.

I think if they are ARMY who know us, they will be generous enough to understand and not once will I doubt that. What we said in the video is everything. Although Jungkook or Taehyung already explained it well through Vlive, we have always been open about the long-term future of BTS. Although there were times when we fought, I think it is the test to mature into an adult from the social life of our early 10s-20s.

Although I’m afraid this post will be another disaster… or it will be an act that will fuel the fire of all the existing noises, as the interested person who spoke the most, I tried to briefly talk about the main points. Thanks to everyone who watched the video, AND sent us good support, love and energy, whether from far or near. I will conceive to work hard to show you better sides as a group and also as an individual. Thank you.”
