EXO’s Chanyeol visits his grandfather’s grave and brings fans to tears over the sad scene

Chanyeol went to visit his grandfather’s grave while he is doing his mandatory military service and has made his fans send him many messages of admiration and support, and some revealed that they could not help but cry when they saw the photo as they have also lost a loved one.

On February 22nd, 2011, South Korean group EXO member Chanyeol’s paternal grandfather passed away. The veteran, named Park Jun Geun, had served Korea as a serviceman in the same unit as the young rapper. This February 22nd, the idol went to visit his grandfather’s grave, which is located at Daejeon National Cemetery.

When Chanyeol arrived at the grave, he removed the sash attached to his left arm of the unit ‘army headquarters‘ along with the sash named ‘white horse‘, which is belonging to the 9th division of his original unit, as a way of pay respect.

He was joined on his visit by his father, who commented that he was proud that Chanyeol’s grandfather had served Korea and that his son was now in the same unit as his father.

Chanyeol started military service on March 29th, 2021.

He is currently serving in the 9th infantry division and has been sent to the army music team.

Currently, he has been cast as ‘Laman‘ in the army creative musical ‘A song of meissa’. He is expected to be discharged in September 2022.
