Nominated for an Oscar 2022 in the Best Original Song category for the track “No Time to Die”, Billie Eilish spoke during an interview with “Late Night With Seth Meyers”, this Wednesday 24th, about the process of creating the track, composed with his brother, Finneas.
Eilish revealed that she met the 53-year-old Hollywood star while doing the film’s theme song. She shared that she was nervous to meet Daniel Craig, the protagonist of the feature.
“He’s James Bond” she joked.
“When I first met him, I was like, ‘Woah’” said the 20-year-old singer.
In the interview, the voice of the album “Happier Than Ever” also detailed the songwriting process behind her Oscar-nominated song, which was released in February 2020 and peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Eilish said that she and Finneas were given a script with the film’s opening scene, which she said was instrumental in creating the track. “That’s literally what wrote the song” she said after explaining that they had to audition for the opportunity.
“It wasn’t an ego thing, it was like really, ‘It has to be perfect’” she detailed.
This year, Beyoncé and Billie Eilish are nominated for “Best Original Song” at the Oscars. For both, the first nomination at the main international film awards. Beyoncé is in the running as the songwriter of the song “Be Alive” which she also sings. The track is part of the soundtrack of the movie “King Richard”.
