This Thursday, February 17th, Cube Entertainment confirmed (G)I-DLE‘s first comeback as a five-piece. The girl group consisted of six members until Soojin‘s departure in August 2021. According to the agency, the new project is scheduled for March this year.

Cube Entertainment stated in contact with South Korean news portal News1, “(G)I-DLE is gearing up for a comeback in March”. It is worth mentioning that the five members had been focusing on their solo careers.

Soyeon, for example, is working on an album while mentoring the show “My Teenage Girl”.

Miyeon has been dedicating herself to acting, while Yuqi , Shuhua and Minnie are participating in scheduled activities in their home countries.

In other related news, Soojin has been away from (G)I-DLE since March after receiving accusations that she was bullied at school. She and Cube have denied the allegations, stating that they would go to court to fight the false rumors.

Whether this was actually done, we don’t know, but out of the blue, the artist’s departure from the K-Pop group was announced. At the time, fans detonated the agency and there were people who recalled the disbanding of 4minute and CLC, apart from the controversial expulsion of Hyuna and Dawn in 2018 after their relationship came to light.

A petition with more than 160,000 signatures demanding the artist’s return to the group was even opened. Unfortunately, the attempt didn’t work and since then (G)I-DLE has continued as a quintet.
