It has been more than 500 days since BLACKPINK had their last comeback, although YG Entertainment recently announced BLACKPINK’s latest release, but it is not the news that many fans expected to hear.
With a release date of March 2nd, “2022 Welcoming Collection” is a DVD that showcases the individual charms of Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa, and Jennie. While fans love the material itself, they are more concerned with YG Entertainment’s priorities when it comes to BLACKPINK.

“We need a comeback, it’s been 500 days,” writes a fan. Comments on YG Entertainment’s new announcement about the girls are flooded with protesting fans, waiting for new music from the group.
Soon after, fans began trending #WeWantBLACKPINKMusic on Twitter, firmly declaring “If you don’t give us music, we won’t give you money.” Many fans also noted the similarities to BLACKPINK’s older “Welcoming Collection,” noting that some of the images may be recycled.
With such a long wait for new material, fans are wondering how much benefit these decisions are for BLACKPINK and if they made the best decision by boycotting merchandise, will this be enough to get new music from the girls?
