Selena Gomez continues to expand her business and take her makeup line to new locations. This week, Rare Beauty arrived in the UK and its CEO gave an interview to Glamor magazine. The actress and singer talked about her daily care, self-esteem and recalled a mistake with her makeup during the 2018 MET Gala.
When appearing on the red carpet of the event, Selena was more tanned than usual, which ended up becoming a subject on social networks and in the media.
“While I was getting ready for the Met Gala a few years ago, we put on some suntan lotion and it looked beautiful, but as the night wore on, it got darker and darker”, said Gomez.
“When I sat down, I saw a picture of me, and it looked completely orange. And here I am at this prestigious event, my first thought was, ‘I have to get out of here!
‘”.
“Creating this brand was a way to have open conversations around beauty and mental health and can change the industry by breaking down unrealistic standards of beauty together.”

“It’s hard to feel comfortable when you feel like everyone is watching, judging and commenting on how you look. Self-confidence is still something I work on on a daily basis, but when I stopped trying to conform to society’s unrealistic standards of beauty, my perspective completely changed”.
