BLACKPINK fans took to social media to raise their voices to protest a delay in the comeback. Followers of the successful girlband questioned the management of YG Entertainment, as the quartet made up of Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa and Jennie went through the longest hiatus of their group career.
Three phrases related to this request appear in the world trends of Twitter. Posts powered by major fanbases emphasize that the group has not released a new EP or group album for 15 months, a rare period for artists in the K-pop industry.
Followers also cite an administrative report from YG Entertainment in which there was talk of an additional delay. Previously, the agency had commented to the media that the comeback would take place in mid-July 2021, something that did not happen.
“Stop delay BLACKPINK” is another phrase used by the BLINKs as their slogan in their wake-up call to the agency in South Korea.
.
“There is no creative freedom, they do not respond to the fans, there was no group music content for over a year. There is no confirmed agenda for the members.
No more excuses”, a group of fanbases demands in unison.
On the other hand, it should be remembered that in 2021 the girlband prioritized the individual projects of their stars.
That year the solo debuts of Rosé and Lisa were released; as well as filming for Jisoo‘s drama Snowdrop.
However, fans fear that the agency is neglecting the group as a whole. There is an intention to send protest vans back to the agency, just as BLINKs did in the 2020 hiatus. International fanbases announced on social networks the initiation of boycotts if the company does not respond to the claim.
