This Sunday, January 9, Jae, also known as Jimin Park, former member of the K-Pop group DAY6, apologized for a controversial comment he made recently about his former labelmate, JYP Entertainment, Jamie.
Jae Park used his twitter to make a public apology after receiving a strong reaction. Jae claimed that he thought his comments were just “friendly jokes” and that he did not mean to offend Jamie. Furthermore, Park stated that he got confused between the words “thot” and “baddie“, and assumed they both meant the same thing.
While Jamie has yet to respond to Jae Park’s apology, the internet doesn’t quite accept it. For many, it seemed that the backlash was the reason behind the apology and not actual regret. Jae Park’s behavior has also been questioned as this is not the first time that he has made these controversial comments.
While both Jae and Jamie have been friends for a long time, the former Day6 member’s recent comments on the live stream appear to have put a rift between the two. In the statement, posted on his Twitter account, he tagged Jamie’s account. He apologized to her and to those who were hurt by her comment.

The criticized comment took place during a live broadcast of the former idol turned into twitch streamer, where he said:
“Now that I’m not into K-pop anymore, I can say this. Why is Jamie trying to be a thot?“, Jae said.
Former Day6 member now turned Twitch streamer, Jae Park, issues an apology to Jamie following his slutshaming "Joke".

Former 15& member Jamie expressed her sadness and shock after hearing Park’s comments in a series of now-deleted tweets. The only tweets from her that make reference to her problem are one in which she assures fans that she is fine and one in which she says:
“I hate that we as women have to be subjected to mens humor to appease incels on the Internet period“.
