The Grammy 2022, the biggest awards in the music world, was set to take place on January 31st. However, now there is no longer this certainty, as it was already circulating. With the Ômicron variant, covid-19 cases are on the rise again, including in the United States. Because of this, according to Billboard, a postponement for the safety of all is being considered.
A source close to the Grammy production says it “looks likely” that the postponement will take place. It is worth remembering that the awards were returning to normal, with an in-person audience and less protective measures. However, a step back must be taken.
Billboard informó que debido a la alta incidencia de casos positivos de la variante ómicron del COVID-19 se espera que la ceremonia de los GRAMMYs 2022 sea pospuesta.

In 2021, the Grammy was also postponed because of covid-19. Last year it was also set for January 31st, but it turned out to be March 14th. The entire formation was remodeled to allow less crowding.

The Grammys tend to prefer to hold the show in an arena with full capacity, as they make big money from ticket sales. So they would miss it if they did a reduced show like they did last year. The hope is that by the next date things will be better again. The Recording Academy does not confirm the postponement.
