Park So Dam, a Korean actress awarded for her role in Parasite, was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. On December 13, the Artist Company (the agency that represents her) informed the media that this is the reason why Park will not be able to promote the premiere of her new movie Special cargo.

According to the statement, the 30-year-old figure was undergoing routine check-ups when they detected an abnormality in the thyroid that the doctor concluded was cancer.

For treatment, Park So Dam underwent surgery from which she is currently recovering.
