The production of the Korean drama that was to star NCT’s Jaehyun was canceled according to reports from Kakao Entertainment on December 9. The series was an adaptation of the 2001 film Bungee jumping of its own and had created anticipation for the romantic dynamic between two main male characters.

The Korean series had begun its pre-production months ago and announced the cast in November and the premiere was projected for the second half of 2022.

According to what was reported by the producers, a disagreement with the original writer is the reason for the drastic decision on the remake of Bungee jumping.

Speaking to the Korean press, Kakao said that “in the process of preparing for filming, the screenwriter of the original feature film expressed her concern.” Kakao points out that although “all rights to derivative works of the original (including remakes) belong to the Choice Cut company and there would be no problem filming,” they have decided to back down.

.

After an extensive conversation, the final decision was to suspend production out of respect for the views of the writer,” concluded the company. The news especially affects Jaehyun’s fans, who have been waiting for his screen debut for over a year.
