A former adviser to the White House, the seat of the US government, revealed that she was afraid of being fired for listening to Taylor Swift during the Donald Trump administration. Olivia Troye reported harassment and abuse to Chris Hayes of MSNBC broadcaster.
“I was listening to Taylor Swift loudly in my office one night, I was so angry after a meeting in which I had lost the argument with someone”, reported the former employee of an episode in 2020. A colleague of Troye’s then, knocked on her door and said:
“‘Are you trying to get fired?’ I was very confused” she said.
According to Olivia, this employee would have told her to keep her “eyes open” so that no one close to the former president would hear the song in question.
“He said Taylor didn’t seem like a fan of Trump, so if anyone listens I should be careful“.

The curtailment of government officials is being debated in the United States after The Atlantic published a report in which it claims that Mark Meadows, Trump’s right-hand man, met with a public servant because she, supposedly, had liked a photo in which Taylor Swift announced his support for Joe Biden, at the time, a candidate for the Democratic Party.

Swift was one of the great entertainment voices supporting the Democrat’s election. The singer, who until then had never taken a political position, broke the silence and took a stand against Donald Trump.
“The change we most need is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be recognized and included (…) Everyone deserves a government that takes the risks to global health seriously and puts the lives of its people first. The only way to start making things better is to pick leaders who are willing to address these issues and find ways to solve them” Swift said in an interview with V Magazine.
