Bangtan has captured the world’s attention, therefore it is not uncommon for idols being part of the music industry – which is globalized – to find ways to approach and communicate with ARMY. A practice of the BTS members has been to learn new languages, mainly English.

RM, the leader of the band, is the constant spokesperson in interviews with foreign media due to his fluency and extensive knowledge of English, however; he is not the only member who has knowledge of several languages. V also possesses a talent for learning different languages.

BTS’ fandom is getting bigger and bigger and Taehyung is one of the members who loves communicating with ARMY the most. The idol has stated in past interviews that ARMY is like a friend to him but can he only communicate with K-ARMYs? No, V, being constantly traveling and having contact with different cultures, has come to know and learn different languages other than Korean.

The popular “Permission to dance” singer speaks two languages other than his native Korean. Kim Taehyung was born and formed his professional career as a trainee in South Korea. Most or almost all of the recording material, merchandising, interviews and more, is written and produced in Korean.

K-pop is globally known for being a musical genre that includes or mixes various musical styles such as pop, R&B, rap, rock, among others. One of its characteristics is the catchy choruses in English. This being one of the languages that cost V the most – and still finds it difficult – to learn.

She can barely be distinguished from her basic knowledge of English – except for her accent – as she performs hits like “Butter” or “Permission to dance,” songs entirely in English that demand a certain fluency of the language. His language skills have improved over the years.

As ARMY probably already knows, another language Taehyung uses is Japanese. Again, his artistic career has prompted the idol to expand his knowledge of languages. The fame and acceptance of Bangtan Sonyeondan was so much in Japan that he worked on Japanese versions of the band’s albums. Tae has a basic level of the emblematic language of the Japanese country.
