Madonna reveals the only artist who currently inspires her

Madonna liked Kanye West‘s album “DONDA” (Ye). She told V magazine that currently this is the only work that inspires her. She also said that she has issues with the rapper’s political positions, but that his artistic work is really rich.

“The only thing I’ve heard recently that inspired me was Kanye’s ‘Donda’ album. There are very few artists working towards failure (without being held hostage to success). And I feel like he is. I can’t say I agree with all of his policies and the way he thinks about women, single people having sex or the gay community. But his work is on the razor’s edge and it’s inspiring, it’s rare. Everyone had been waiting for so long for their album to be released and when it finally did, everyone else’s album was released too.

In other releated news, in the same interview, Madonna commented on the dangers of “cancellation“.

“The problem is, the quieter you are, the more scared you are, the more dangerous everything becomes. We are giving power by closing our mouths completely”, said the artist.

Asked what it’s like to stay on top at 63, Madonna said she doesn’t even think about her age. He just keeps doing what he likes and what he knows how to do.

“Even when I toured in agony, with no cartilage in my right hip, everyone was like ‘you have to stop’ and I said ‘I’m not going to stop, I’m going to do it until everything drops’” said the artist.
