K-pop can be an interesting source of inspiration for Halloween. Something that distinguishes the industry is the variety of concepts, makeup, hairstyles and distinctive outfits for each musical era. Here are some ideas if you want to recreate the style of BTS, BLACKPINK or try some iconic looks.

.

BLACKPINK: “Kill this love”

BLACKPINK is the hottest girl group right now and their signature concept is ‘girl crush’. For the “Kill this love” era, straps, harnesses, long socks or ankle boots are indispensable. If you want to be more specific with the look, the black and pink combination will make the allusion to the girlband even more evident.

TWICE “Cheer Up”

Cheer up” got the industry dancing in 2016 and is one of the best-known K-pop songs of the third generation. In this comeback, TWICE’s purple jacket is a piece that makes this era’s outfit unmistakable.

BTS “Dynamite”

Throughout their career, BTS has experimented with various concepts. Although his most striking look was that of his debut with “No more dream”, if you are looking for something that even the ‘locals’ can recognize, you can bet on the disco theme they adopted for “Dynamite”. For this look, the Bangtan boys revived the combination of flared pants and belts.

EXO “Obsession”

As well as their logo changes with each era, EXO has also left behind several iconic looks in K-pop history. One of the ones that plays more with makeup is undoubtedly “Obsession” in the X-EXO version. Other highlights are the accessories and their solid color palette (red, yellow, black).

Red Velvet “Peek-a Boo”

If your favorite group is Red Velvet, you can choose between the two macro concepts that guide their projects: the ‘red’ side that is more fun, dynamic and energetic or the ‘velvet’ side with an elegant, magnetic and seductive theme.

IMPORTANT: When following these and more K-pop inspired looks, care must be taken that they are respectful of the ethnicity of the idols. The ‘yellowface’ (when a western person modifies the shape of their eyes with prosthetics) is not allowed as it is a racist attitude against the Asian community.
