Attentive all Toy Story fans, next year comes a new installment of the most beloved toy universe in cinema. This Wednesday, October 27, Disney Pixar released the first trailer for ‘Lightyear‘.
Now, the origin of Buzz Lightyear will have its own film, as a spin-off that will tell the story of the character, in which the action figure is inspired. In the story the Lightyear that we see is younger than the figure of action, so the movie is likely to focus on the early days of his space race.
In the first scene of this preview, a space station is observed in which a voice indicates the preparation for take-off of a ship.
Although Toy Story’s trademark three-eyed aliens are absent, we are shown brief glimpses of other Star Command officers, like a robotic red-haired cat that Buzz seems to be friend, and a handful of gorgeous shots of him darting into space.
We also see that in his journeys there is a traveling companion who also wears the characteristic costume of the unforgettable action figure. In the recent look, the classic phrase of Lightyear is not fully enunciated in this preview, only the first part is revealed “To infinity and…“. Apparently the surprise will come later.

There are still no more details about the plot, however what is assured is that Chris Evans will lend his voice to give life to Lightyear in the film, and despite not being a well-received decision by Toy Story fans, who question the reason why Tim Allen, who has played the voice of Buzz in the saga, was not chosen, this is because it is a film that will reveal the ‘real’ life of the astronaut, it will not be an extension of the Buzz-action figure.
The specific release date in theaters will be June 17, 2022.

They were my first window into the magic of storytelling and performing.
