BTS’ 1st online concert in a year brings a message of hope

BTS broadcast a message of hope to their global fans on Sunday during an online concert that was broadcast live from an empty stadium in Seoul. “BTS Permission To Dance On Stage” was the group’s first global online concert in about a year, following “BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON: E” in October last year.

After the opening performance, member Jimin said that they had been looking forward to the day and felt grateful and honored that they were able to prepare for the concert and meet with their fans again. He added that he would make the most effortless performances for fans who were not in the stadium.

The group also didn’t forget to perform performances of their global hits, such as “Dynamite,” which ranked it #1 on Billboard for the first time for a K-pop artist, and their other hits at the top of the “Hot 100 chart”, including “Life Goes On“, “Butter” and “Permission To Dance”.

.

All performances were with the full group, with no individual performances.

However, member V, who experienced pain in his calf muscles during a rehearsal the day before, participated in the concert by sitting in a chair without taking part in the choreography.

The show’s powerful “Visual Effect View” technology drew attention, through which spectators could simultaneously enjoy computer-generated visual effects and images displayed on large LED screens in the stadium through their devices at home.

A multi-view live streaming service was also available for fans to select and enjoy, in real time, various scenes from six different angles. The concert was concluded with “Permission to Dance“, the 24th and last song of the event, which lasted around two and a half hours.
