The K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has attended a YouTube event on protecting the environment and urged efforts to safeguard the planet facing a climate crisis, such as climate change, as announced this Sunday, their representation agency, YG Entertainment.
The quartet participated, as the only K-pop act, on Saturday in “Dear Earth,” a YouTube Originals special organized to raise awareness about protecting the environment. Lisa said climate change is accelerating considerably, warning of the severity in the environment.
Member Rosé said that they must join forces to achieve the common goal of safeguarding the Earth and stressed that they need to continuously raise their voices to face the current crisis facing the planet.

Jisoo also pointed out that they should strive to create a better, more balanced and sustainable world. In addition, BLACKPINK held a performance of “Stay“, the title track from their album “Square Two,” released in November 2016. The group was also recently appointed honorary ambassador for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
