JYP will officially debut a new girl group in February 2022.
On July 8, JYP Entertainment released a mysterious teaser for something titled “Blind Package.” After sparking an internet speculation scandal, the agency officially announced on July 9 what the teaser clip was about: a new girl group.
The next group called SQU4D will debut in February 2022, becoming JYP’s first new girl group in three years since ITZY’s debut in February 2019. The new group will be managed by JYP Entertainment 4th Division, led by Lee Ji Young, the company’s first female CEO.

JYP Entertainment for JYPn released a teaser titled “We Are SQU4D.” The teaser reads, “Questions and thoughts that are scattered among us. We put them together in a single image.
Together, they take us to different levels of fulfillment, and these realizations lead to new creations.”

“As we share these new realizations, the once scattered thoughts become one. All the questions and realizations that have become one, we are SQU4D.” The teaser also features a “SQU4D” logo, hinting that it could be the name of the group or a unit. So far, JYPn has released “qualifying” videos featuring five potential members of their new girl group: BAE, Jiwoo, Kyujin, Sullyoon, and Jinni.
