A whole scandal has been generated in social networks after Peruvian journalists Fernando Díaz and Alicia Retto, drivers of ATV news, joked about the names of the members of BTS. Fans of the famous Korean group took to Twitter to demand an apology from the television channel.

The event came after the newscast featured a note about Jimin’s birthday celebration, one of the BTS members. However, Fernando Díaz referred to them with names of Peruvian-Chinese fusion food.

“Do you know the names of the seven (members)?” Diaz asked. “Of some,” Retto replied. It was then that the press man began to list various dishes of the Peruvian-Chinese fusion, alluding to the name of the members of BTS. His partner celebrated the occurrence of her colleague.

The ARMY of Peru, as the fans of the group are known, became the number 1 trend with the phrase ‘#ATVExcuse me’. This request was joined by BTS fans from Me xico, who also demanded respect for Korean interpreters.
